Design
Squad
Design Squad presents viewers with positive role models who experience
engineering as a fun and engaging process. The image many still have of
engineers is the outdated 'nerds with calculators and pocket protectors.'
Design Squad goes a long way to address this. Our diverse cast of high
school students are high-energy, smart, and approach the challenges they
face with enthusiasm. And not a single one of them wears a pocket protector.

GetTech.org
GetTech helps students, teachers, parents to plan for exciting careers
in technology, engineering, manufacturing, and science. The National Association
for Manufacturing and the Center for Workforce Success, its educational
and training affiliate, are proud to team with the U.S. Department of
Commerce, the U.S. Department of Labor and all of our Gold Sponsors and
friends to bring GetTech to the nation's students.
Girl
Scouts - STEM
Girls push boundaries, test limits, and look at the world around them
with inquisitive eyes. They're natural scientists! Girl Scouts introduces
girls of every age to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
activities that are relevant to everyday life. Whether they're discovering
how a car's engine runs, becoming math whizzes, or learning about careers
in STEM fields, girls are moving forward into the future. They can host
science fairs, design Web sites, plan for space exploration, visit geological
sites, and more. This site contains a list of ways Girl Scouts are promoting
STEM for girls.
INSPIRE!
INSPIRE seeks to build and maintain strong partnerships with educational
constituents to grow a vital and consistent platform for research and
translation of research results for formal classroom implementation. To
ensure impact on a broad scale, INSPIRE is initiating and leading an advocacy
effort at state and national levels to inform and influence policy-making
that will increase the U.S. commitment to P-12 engineering education.
Journal

National
Girls Collaborative Project
Numerous programs and initiatives to create gender equity in the areas
of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) have been
implemented only to lose effectiveness or fade away. Had these programs
had the benefit of collaboration with other girl-serving projects, organizations
and institutions, and tools to assess and evaluate the impact of their
efforts, their capacity for continuation and/or broader impact could have
been substantially increased.
