Biomanufacturing
Training and Education Center (BTEC)
BTEC strives to create the most well-trained, industry-focused workforce
in the world by deploying a system of advanced, hands-on training and
education in a current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) environment
using facilities and equipment found in leading biomanufacturing companies.
They also endeavor to help create the next generation of bioprocessing
technology.
Center
for Advanced Manufacturing
The Center for Advanced Manufacturing 's mission is to bridge basic
academic research with specific industrial needs to enhance both the understanding
and application of manufacturing issues in Indiana.
Center for
Automation and Motion Control
The goals of this center include providing automation and motion control
education, extending awareness of manufacturing to their partners, and
developing an automation technology clearinghouse.
Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems
The vision for the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems is to enable products and systems to achieve and sustain near-zero breakdown performance, and ultimately transform the traditional maintenance practices from "fail and fix " to "predict and prevent" methodology.
Center for Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM)
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Quick Response Manufacturing, ruthlessly cutting down the time it takes to get products developed and produced is seen as the best way to reduce costs and end up with more — you guessed it — money.
Collaborative
Design & Rapid Manufacturing
This database of network members helps facilitate the process of finding
a collaborative partner for design development or locating equipment that
can be used on a cost recovery basis as part of the equipment sharing
database.
Engineering
Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing (ERC/NSM)
The ERC/NSM is the leading university associated group in North America
conducting R&D and providing education in metal forming (stamping,
sheet & tube hydroforming, forging).
Engineering
Research Center for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems (ERC/RMS)
A Reconfigurable Manufacturing System (RMS) is one designed at the outset for rapid change in its structure, as well as its hardware and software components, in order to quickly adjust its production capacity and functionality within a part family in response to sudden market changes or intrinsic system change.
Laboratory for Manufacturing $ystem Realization and Synthesis (MA/RS)
The goal of this laboratory is to develop a fundamental math-based design and manufacturing tools based on integration of the CAD/CAM and statistical analysis of data to evaluate life-cycle performance of the manufacturing enterprise systems (MES).
Lean
Construction Institute
Lean Construction is a production management-based approach to project
delivery -- a new way to design and build capital facilities.
Lean Enterprise Institute
The Lean Enterprise Institute's global mission is to be the leading educators for society in maximizing value and minimizing waste. To accomplish this goal, they develop and advance lean principles, tools, and techniques designed to enable positive change.
Manufacturing.net
- The Industry's Knowledge Network

The Project Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence
The entire Purdue community, through the Product Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence, serves as an agent of economic progress and a resource for industry. Through the study, training, and implementation of product lifecycle management, the Center provides its industry partners with the knowledge and tools
The Center saves its partners valuable resources and time, connecting them with the frontiers of technology where new tools and approaches accelerate innovation and add greater value to new product strategies. Through a true multi-disciplinary approach, Purdue mimics the multiple functional organizations of a corporation, with marketing, design, engineering, technology, manufacturing, finance and organizational psychology all participating in the product development process. This approach offers both its partners and students a unique environment for learning, research and piloting real-world projects.
Radio Frequency
Identification and Sensor Lab
Texas A&M has the faculty, facilities and resources to provide educational
opportunities, to perform RFID Sensor systems solutions development, and
to service and support the real-time wireless communication projects of
companies interested in working with the RFID Technology.
Regional
Manufacturing Institute of Maryland
Founded in 1990, the Regional Manufacturing Institute (RMI), a non-profit
association, was created for manufacturers in the Baltimore Metropolitan
area. RMI is unique in that it has representatives of Business, Government,
Education, Labor and the community serving on the Board of Directors.
This helps greatly in getting things done with agencies and organizations
that impact manufacturers.
Tech Group Resources - Plastics Tooling
This list of resources was prepared by the SME Plastics Tooling & Mold Design Tech Group. This group provides plastics part designers, tool designers, moldmakers and molders with the knowledge, educational and technical resources required to work as a manufacturing team to successfully compete in the global economy.
The
Alliance for Innovative Manufacturing (AIM)
The Alliance for Innovative Manufacturing (AIM) is a continuous learning
community of industrial professionals, academics, and students studying
the making of real things that improve people's lives. It is a joint venture
between multinational corporations with a significant design and manufacturing
presence in the United States and Stanford University's Graduate School
of Business and School of Engineering.
